Sidcup Medical Centre has an active PPG which has been running since July 2011. The overall aim of a PPG is to act as a communication channel between you, the patient, and the surgery and to try and improve the services we offer. The PPG is not to be used as a forum for individual complaints these should always be taken up with the Assistant Practice Manager Louise Wright.
We currently have around 10 patients on our PPG from both the Church Avenue, Burnt Oak Lane and Thanet Road surgeries and we aim to meet every 8 to 12 weeks.
We are currently aiming to recruit more members for our PPG, ideally from as broad a spectrum of patients as possible to try and get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups. If you feel you are unable to commit to attending meetings then why not consider joining out Virtual Patient Participation Group where you will be contacted by email.
If you are interested in joining either our PPG or the Virtual PPG (VPPG) then please contact the surgery and ask for your details to be passed on to Louise.
Our PPG/VPPG also advertise joining the group on the noticeboards in the surgery waiting rooms please click here.

The information you supply us will be used lawfully, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you the right to know what information is held about you and sets out rules to make sure that this information is handled properly.
As with our main Patient Participation Group we would like to hear the opinions and views from a broad spectrum of our patients and in this current day and age we realise that it is not always possible for people to be able to commit to attending meetings, therefore we are setting up a virtual patient participation group so that you can still have your say.
We will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys short so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.
We aim to gather around a hundred patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.
